I'm Sherryl-Lee Secomb, a marketer helping community theatre organisations promote their creativity without burning out or wasting time on tactics that don't work in volunteer organisations.
I've been on stage since I was fifteen, I direct large scale musical theatre productions in South East Queensland and have served on the management of one of Queensland's largest community theatre organisations.
In other words, I get you. With my deep knowledge of the community theatre world and many years of marketing it - successfully - you no longer have any excuse for hiding your 'extraordinary'.

I grew up in rehearsal halls. My grandmother was an amazing theatre director and I spent hours watching her create plays and musicals, slowly building my own love of theatre. Stepping onto the stage at fifteen, I've enjoyed the privilege of working with many amazing people. I directed my first musical in 2010 and have since found the greatest joy in leading and collaborating with thousands of amazing local creatives. A passionate advocate for community theatre, I created the blog, An Idiot On Stage, in 2014, purposed to “encourage and equip community theatre to expect more and be extraordinary”. I challenge my beloved theatre community to be strong and courageous, fierce and compassionate. Most importantly, I love to be a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously; to be An Idiot On Stage.
